Nice to Saint-Tropez transfer by private van
The drive from Nice airport to Saint-Tropez covers about 110 km (68 miles) and takes about 1 hour 45 minutes outside peak traffic, often much longer in July and August. A private van takes you door to door with your holiday luggage, so the long road is the only thing you have to sit through.

The road
Why this transfer takes planning
Saint-Tropez sits at the end of a peninsula with one main road in and out. The motorway part is quick; the last stretch from the coast to the village is where summer traffic builds, especially on Saturdays when villa rentals change over.
That is why planning matters here: your driver knows the timing of the peninsula road through the day. Send your flight and address, and we reply with a quote and a suggested pickup time.
Best times to travel
Early morning and late evening are the calmest. If your flight lands mid-afternoon on a summer Saturday, plan for a longer drive and keep water and snacks for children within reach.
Where we drop you
- Hotels in the village and on the road to Les Salins
- Villas in Ramatuelle, Gassin and La Croix-Valmer
- Beach clubs on Pampelonne, for a drop-off
- The port of Saint-Tropez, for yacht guests and crew
Send the villa address with gate code and any access road notes. Some properties are reached by unpaved tracks.

Around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez
Drive times to the gulf
| From | To | Distance | Drive, light traffic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nice airport | Sainte-Maxime | About 93 km / 58 mi | About 1 h 15 |
| Nice airport | Port Grimaud | About 100 km / 62 mi | About 1 h 25 |
| Nice airport | Saint-Tropez village | 110 km / 68 mi | About 1 h 45 |
| Nice airport | Ramatuelle, Pampelonne | 113 km / 70 mi | About 1 h 50 |
| Cannes | Saint-Tropez village | About 90 km / 56 mi | About 1 h 25 |
The usual route follows the A8 motorway west to Le Muy, then crosses the hills to Sainte-Maxime and runs along the gulf. The last 14 km, from Sainte-Maxime to Saint-Tropez, are where summer traffic stops: in August and on summer evenings this stretch alone can take an hour. When it is jammed, your driver may take the inland road through La Garde-Freinet instead.
Some visitors cross the gulf by passenger boat between Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez for an evening in the village. It is a pleasant way to avoid the traffic for a dinner, but not an option with a week of luggage.

Saint-Tropez transfer questions
How do we get a price for Saint-Tropez?
Request a quote with your dates, flight, address and number of passengers. Van fares start from €400; the quote gives the price for your trip.
Can we stop for groceries on the way to the villa?
Yes, if you add it when booking. A supermarket stop near the peninsula is common for villa arrivals.
Is there a boat alternative?
In summer, seasonal boats link some coastal towns with Saint-Tropez. They do not take you door to door and luggage is limited, so most families with bags prefer the road.
Can you drive us back to Nice airport at the end of the week?
Yes. Book the return at the same time and we suggest a departure time that fits your flight and the traffic of the day.
Do you also drive to Sainte-Maxime and Port Grimaud?
Yes. Both are on the way into the gulf, a little closer than Saint-Tropez itself, and are quoted the same way.
How early should we leave Saint-Tropez for a flight from Nice?
Outside summer, about two hours before you want to be at the airport is usually enough. On summer Saturdays and in August, allow much more, because the road out of the peninsula is the slowest part. We suggest a pickup time when you book.
What does the fare include on such a long drive?
The whole van for your group, fuel and motorway tolls, flight tracking at Nice airport and help with all your luggage. A stop on the way can be added when you book.
